This is it. You're own personal bilingual surf guide/instructor in Northern Baja is ready to show you how awesome surfing in Baja can be. Manny V has been hitting the waves in Baja since the 80's. You'll be led to empty line-ups which will are perfect to learn and improve your surfing skills. You'll hit up the best local food spots which will include a delicious lobster dinner on Saturday night. Plus, Manny V's decades of surf photography skills will document your epic getaway. All the photos and videos will be yours at no additional cost! Your Baja Weekender trip is set up for a Saturday and Sunday surgical surf strike. Pack your bags... Baja is waiting!

Your trip begins when the group meets in Imperial Beach at 8pm Friday night. We plan to arrive to our surf house one hour after meeting up. We will settle in, have a beer and hit the hay for our early morning surf. After two solid days of Baja awesome-ness, we return back to San Diego on Sunday between 5pm-8pm or earlier (depending on surf conditions and border wait times). All Northern Baja surf trips require a minimum of 3 people and are capped at a maximum of 5 people.

You'll ride the beach and reef breaks anywhere between Rosarito Beach to the north and K-58 to the south. The spots we surf are usually wide open. Yes, EMPTY. Manny V will use his years of experience in Baja to find those lonely breaks. There will be times when we'll have to surf with others but the ultimate goal is to find our own breaks.

Baja Weekender

Here’s a sample of a two-day Baja surgical surf strike itinerary:

Friday Night: Meet in Imperial Beach at 8pm. Drive to surf house. Settle in.

Saturday: Dawn patrol. Walk down to surf and be in the water as soon as possible. We'll ride waves until everyone has had their fair share of fun. Beers, breakfast burritos and snacks will be available before we surf. After your morning surf, we'll head for lunch to the infamous Tacho's Fish Tacos. After lunch, we'll check conditions and get to where it’s happening and surf again. Each session will end with an ice cold beer, if you choose. At sunset, we'll clean up and head out for a delicious lobster dinner at the cool village of Puerto Nuevo. If you still have energy, we'll watch your video clips, go over tips to improve your surfing and enjoy a cold one.

Sunday: Wake up at dawn to hand-delivered coffee and breakfast burritos and we’re off to surf again. Be ready to ride, this is a large wave field with many different breaks. After our morning surf, we head back to our accommodations to pack up and check out. Then, we'll head over to Charly's Place Taqueria for lunch. At Charly's Taqueria the Baja Weekender Awards will be handed out but only one person will receive the Baja Weekender Surf Monkey Award. After good food and the award ceremony, we'll head for the border OR if the majority rules... we'll sneak in one more session. Our goal is to be at the border by 2pm-4pm. FYI: One to four hour border wait is possible. To help get you through the wait, we watch a slide show of all the imagery from your weekend. Or you can bring your iPad and watch a movie. If you're looking for that last minute souvenir, you can chat it up and bargain from the border vendors.
